The Rotary Club of Ala Moana honored Laura Kumamoto, Supervisor of the Emergency Medical Services of City & County of Honolulu, with the 2016-2017 Vocational Public Service Award on December 11 at the club’s annual holiday event. The Public Service Award recognizes vocational excellence in public service to the community and was presented to Mrs. Kumamoto by Rotary Club of Ala Moana President Michael Malaghan.
 
 
 
 
The Rotary Club of Ala Moana honored Laura Kumamoto, Supervisor of the Emergency Medical Services of City & County of Honolulu, with the 2016-2017 Vocational Public Service Award on December 11 at the club’s annual holiday event. The Public Service Award recognizes vocational excellence in public service to the community and was presented to Mrs. Kumamoto by Rotary Club of Ala Moana President Michael Malaghan.
 
                        Laura Kumamoto was nominated for this award by the Emergency Medical Services of the City & County of Honolulu (EMS), from among their 270 EMS employees. Laura’s 22 years of dedicated service included working diligently through the ranks from Emergency Medical Technician to Paramedic, and then to the EMS Unit Supervisor of the Young Street Unit Base, the highest call volume Unit Base in Hawaii. Her specialties include respiratory therapy and mobile intensive care.   
 
                        The Rotary Club of Ala Moana was founded in 1972 and is one of 51 Rotary
Clubs in Hawaii. The Rotary Club of Ala Moana meets at 12 noon every Thursday for lunch, fellowship and camaraderie at the Ala Moana Hotel. There are over 1,700 Rotarians in Hawaii’s 51 clubs and potential new Rotary members are welcome to join and are vital to achieving the goals of service above self. Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
